01 / OVERVIEW

Scope and basic principles

KNCSTUDIO (케이엔씨스튜디오, the “Operator”) explains below how information is handled in the BILLNYANG subscription management app and on this introductory website. Subscription records are stored on your device and are not automatically sent to an Operator-run subscription-record server. Optional cloud backups and purchase verification for each platform are described separately.

You can use the app without creating a BILLNYANG account. The app does not ask for credit card or bank account numbers and does not include advertising or behavioral analytics tracking SDKs.

02 / ON YOUR DEVICE

Subscription records and device storage

Information
Subscription names you enter, amounts and currencies, billing cycles and schedules, price history, usage frequency, archive status, reminder rules, and app settings.
Purpose
Adding and viewing subscriptions; calculating billing schedules and estimated costs; usage reviews, savings simulations, and reminders.
Storage and control
The app’s storage on your device. You can manage records in the app. File exports and cloud backup copies are stored separately.

Manual exchange-rate information in older backups may be retained for backup compatibility, but it is not used in current exchange-rate calculations.

Home screen widgets

If you use a widget, information such as the subscription name, next billing date and amount, monthly cost summary, and display-related access status may be saved in storage shared by the app and widget on the same device. This is a local copy used to display the widget and is not sent to a developer server. Remove the widget to stop displaying this information.

03 / PURCHASES

Pass purchases and restoration

iOS · App Store

Payments are processed by the App Store. StoreKit 2 verifies signed transactions and current pass ownership on your device. Product IDs, transaction IDs, and signed transactions are not sent to an Operator-run verification server or stored in an Operator-run purchase verification database.

The app checks access when it starts or resumes and when Apple reports transaction changes. It requests Apple account synchronization when you explicitly restore purchases. Apple’s policies apply to its account and transaction processing.

Android · Google Play

Payments are processed by Google Play. The app queries currently owned purchases from Google Play and uses the app’s Google Play public key to verify purchase-data signatures and the signed package, product, order, purchase token, and completed-purchase state on your device. It requests store acknowledgment only for verified purchases.

Product and transaction information or purchase tokens are not sent to an Operator-run verification server or stored in an Operator-run purchase database. The app checks ownership on launch, resume, purchase updates, and restoration requests. If the query fails, the app asks you to check again. The timing of refund or account-change updates depends on Google Play’s state refresh.

Purchase evidence from an older server-verification version may remain in your device’s secure storage, but it is not used to grant current pass access. These records are not included in ordinary subscription backups.

For both platforms

Restoring a subscription backup does not transfer paid access between stores. Purchases and restoration use the relevant store account. Each store’s policies apply to its transaction records and refunds.

04 / OPTIONAL BACKUPS

Optional file and cloud backups

You may export subscription records to a file location you choose. If you connect cloud backup, iOS uses your iCloud Drive and Android uses the Google Drive app-specific storage you authorize. Backup copies are not kept on an Operator-run subscription-record server.

  • Backups include subscription names, amounts and currencies, billing history, usage frequency, archive status, and reminder settings.
  • Cloud account identifiers and automatic-backup settings are stored on your device. On Android, the app checks the account identifier and email address when connecting Google Drive. Google access tokens are used in memory while processing backup requests and are not placed in backup files.
  • Paid access, purchase evidence, cloud connection settings, and access tokens are excluded from ordinary subscription backups.
  • Automatic backup is attempted on launch or resume with a 24-hour interval from the last successful backup. Manual backups and safety backups before restoration may also be created.
  • Disconnecting cloud backup removes the connection information and disables automatic backup on that device. It does not delete previously saved backups. Older backups are not automatically deleted.

Backup files are not separately encrypted using an app password. They may contain personal spending records, so protect both the files and the storage account. Automatic synchronization between iCloud and Google Drive is not provided.

Deleting backup files

Delete manually exported files from the location where you saved them. Manage iCloud Drive backups in the Files app or the BILLNYANG backup folder in iCloud Drive. Google Drive app-specific data is not shown in the ordinary file list; you can manage or delete BILLNYANG’s hidden app data through Manage apps in Google Drive’s web settings. Also check the relevant service’s trash or recently deleted items.

05 / RATES & REMINDERS

Exchange rates and device reminders

External exchange-rate requests

On launch or resume, if at least 24 hours have passed since the last successful request, the app requests exchange rates from Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev) using the currency codes USD, KRW, EUR, JPY, and GBP. Requests do not include subscription names, payment amounts, billing schedules, usage frequency, or user identifiers.

Connection information needed for internet communication, such as your IP address, may reach the service provider. Frankfurter states in its official documentation that its API does not collect or log personal data, IP addresses, or request URLs. Rates, reference dates, and retrieval times are stored on your device. If a request fails, previously retrieved rates are retained. Frankfurter documentation ↗

Billing reminders

Reminders are scheduled on your device when you allow notification access. They may display subscription names or estimated billing amounts. You can turn notifications off or restrict lock-screen previews in the app and operating system settings.

06 / EMAIL SUPPORT

Email inquiries

If you email support@kncstudio.kr, your sender email address, message, attachments, and information associated with delivering the email are used to respond to your inquiry. The app does not automatically attach subscription records or amounts. The app’s email-composition feature may include the app version and operating system.

Please send only the information needed for your inquiry. You do not need to provide your complete subscription records, card details, account passwords, or purchase tokens.

Retention: Inquiry records are kept for one year from the date the inquiry is resolved, to support the response and confirm its outcome, and are then deleted. Requests for earlier deletion will be handled unless there is a legitimate reason, such as a legal restriction, not to do so. Unresolved inquiries are retained until resolution. If a law requires separate retention, the basis and period will be explained separately.

Email delivery: Mail sent to support@kncstudio.kr is forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to the Operator’s Gmail account. Cloudflare processes the message for forwarding, and Google processes it for receipt, storage, and security. This may include sender and recipient addresses, message contents and attachments, and email headers.

07 / EXTERNAL SERVICES

External services and overseas processing

The following external services are used for payments, optional backups, exchange rates, inquiry delivery, and this website.

External services by function
ServicePurpose and information
AppleiOS payments, purchase restoration, and optional iCloud Drive backups. Transaction and account information, and selected backup files.
GoogleAndroid payments and purchase checks, optional Google Drive backups, and Gmail inquiry storage. Transactions and purchase tokens, account identifiers, backup files, and inquiry emails.
FrankfurterExchange-rate requests using common currency codes. Subscription records and amounts are not included in requests.
CloudflareWebsite hosting, content delivery, security, and inquiry email routing. Connection IP addresses, request information, and information needed to deliver email.

You can decline or disconnect cloud backup to stop subsequent automatic backup transfers. You may choose not to contact us by email if you do not want email processing, and you may ask the privacy contact to delete an inquiry already sent. Visiting the website involves processing connection information needed to provide its content. The Operator does not sell or share subscription records for advertising. Information is not used beyond the disclosed purposes except where there is a lawful basis, such as a legal requirement or separate notice and consent.

Each service’s policies govern retention and deletion of its platform accounts, transactions, cloud copies, and connection information. The Operator retains inquiry emails for one year after resolution. Apple · Google · Cloudflare

Information may be processed on servers outside the Republic of Korea when external services are used. Apple, Google, and Cloudflare are global providers headquartered in the United States; actual processing locations depend on the service, account settings, and each provider’s global infrastructure. Subscription backup records are transmitted over the internet when you connect or use cloud backup and restoration. Inquiry emails pass through Cloudflare to Google’s email service when you send them. Website connection information reaches Cloudflare when you request a page. See each provider’s policies for details about processing regions and safeguards.

08 / THIS WEBSITE

The introductory website

The subscription-cost demo calculates illustrative amounts inside your browser. Your inputs and selections are not transmitted to an Operator-run server or stored in a separate database. This website has no account login, inquiry submission form, advertising or visitor analytics scripts, or code that uses cookies or local storage. Fonts and illustrations are supplied as part of the site files.

When the site is hosted on Cloudflare, Cloudflare may process connection IP addresses, request URLs, access times, browser information, and related information to deliver pages and provide security. This is separate from storage of subscription records in the app. Actual processing may vary with additional analytics or security features enabled in the Cloudflare account.

The Operator does not run a separate visitor analytics script or access-log database for this static website. Cloudflare’s privacy policy governs its retention and deletion of connection information processed to provide and secure its services. This policy will be updated if analytics or other collection features are added.

09 / RETENTION & DELETION

Retention and deletion

  • Device records: You manage these in the app. Uninstalling the app may remove local app data, but copies may remain through operating system storage or restoration features.
  • Backup copies: Uninstalling the app or disconnecting cloud backup does not delete files or cloud backups. Delete them separately from the storage location or cloud account.
  • Secure storage: In particular, iOS secure-storage entries may remain after the app is uninstalled and reinstalled. Reinstallation does not necessarily mean that every item of information has been erased.
  • Store records: Apple’s or Google’s policies and procedures govern retention, deletion, and refunds for store transactions and accounts.

The Operator deletes inquiry records one year after resolution, or when a deletion request without a legal restriction has been processed. Where a law requires separate preservation, the affected information, legal basis, and period will be explained separately. Electronic files are deleted in a manner intended to make recovery difficult; any paper printouts are shredded. Deleting an inquiry includes associated replies and attachment copies, followed by permanent deletion from Gmail’s trash. External providers’ policies govern final deletion of their backups and security records.

10 / YOUR RIGHTS

Your rights and how to exercise them

You or your legal representative may exercise rights under applicable law concerning personal information processed by the Operator, including access, correction, deletion, and restriction of processing. Email support@kncstudio.kr with the information concerned and your request. We may verify your identity or authority to act to the extent needed to handle the request, then process it under applicable law and explain the outcome.

You can manage device-only subscription records directly in the app because the Operator does not hold them. Use the relevant service’s controls to manage your cloud account, backup files, or store transaction records. The Operator cannot directly access your personal accounts to delete this information.

Notification permission and cloud backup connections are optional. Turning off permission or leaving a service disconnected may limit the corresponding feature.

11 / SAFEGUARDS

Safeguards

Purchase-related information is kept separate from ordinary subscription backups. Security information saved by older versions may remain in device secure storage. Current paid access is determined through each store’s on-device purchase checks. External exchange-rate and cloud APIs use HTTPS connections, and Google access tokens are not exported in backup files.

Please also protect your device lock, store and cloud accounts, and backup-file permissions. Backup files do not have a separate app-password encryption layer; the operating system’s and storage service’s protections apply.
